Mobarez Javanmard MANIFESTO
I grew up in a placewhere reality was always layered, and seeing all layers at once was dangerous. To survive, I learnedto say one thing,to know another, and to run from the third. What was visible was defensible. What stayed hidden was real. And what could not be seen, if exposed, would take law, morality, and logic down with it.Surrealism was not my choice. It was the result of this way of living. Not to explain the world, but to expose it.In this territory, things are not meant to be logical. They are meant to be honest.Time is not linear.Memory folds back, repeats itself, and causes do not lead to safe outcomes. An ordinary object, once pulled out of its safe place, becomes dangerous.Surrealism is not a dream. It is the momentwhen a lie can no longer hold. This is not chaos. It is discipline.A direct confrontation with the unconscious, where no decoration is allowed. This text is not about what I understand. It is about what I spent yearsavoiding seeing. For me, surrealism is not a style. It is a means of survival.
